What kind of internet connectivity & power will be available?

Norris Conference Center provides Cisco-hardware wifi and line power distro throughout the conference hall.

What tag should we use for blogging, pictures, etc?

Please use the tag lsrc2007

This came up at our org meeting last night, so it's official. "lonestarrubyconf" was deemed too long, and "lsrc" is too short to be reliably unique.

Do I need to rent a car for the conference?

That is mostly a personal decision and depends on if you plan on doing activities not planned around the conference. If you are staying at the conference hotel and plan on just attending the sessions, then there is no need for a car.

Are you going to have any kind of shuttle service or is there Public Transportation?

Yes. There will be a shuttle running twice a day from the conference hotel to the airport. Other options are a taxi (for a 2 mile trip, the cost should be reasonable) and locals who have their own car.

How accessible is the hotel from the airport (public transport, shuttle, approx. cab fare?

To get to the hotel from the airport via a taxi may cost up to $40. I would suggest using SuperShuttle - http://supershuttle.com. It will be considerably less expensive.
